My Life

What can I say... I am Me... but that doesn't help you now does it! So here goes...

I'm Alice, I am in my late 20's and live in Reading, Berkshire, UK. I live with my lovely husband, more commonly known and referred to as 'The Hoff' and my two amazingly crazy sons who are growing way to fast.

My eldest is referred to as 'Kyd' in my blog, he was born in 2002, shortly after his birth he was diagnosed with Down Syndrome... that doesn't and has never stopped him in life, he's done more than most adults.

My youngest I refer to as Rocky, he was born in 2012 and is a healthy little tornado of trouble.

We also have 2 cats Dave and Syd, both rescued as kittens and now spoilt rotten... I like to think they love me for saving them, it's more like they only love me when I'm feeding them... both male and obsessed with food, typical.

We also have a tortoise called Bruce, he was given to me as a wedding present from Hoff in 2013 and is still teeny tiny.

We now also have a dog, #LeonardTheDog to be precise, Leonard is a Pointerarner (I made that up)  which is a Weimararner/German Shorthaired Pointer. He is beautiful and is here to help Kyd and Rocky through their childhood. We are looking into teaching Leonard how to be a Therapy Dog for Kyd and that will be a beautiful story to follow all by itself. He is the final part of our Zoo... I promise!

I am completely out numbered by males in this house, which I can't see changing any time soon although it would be nice, I need some back up!!...

I am not your average 20 something girl, as it feels like I have lived enough life for any average 50 year old. Having, shall we say, a very colourful teenage life, then quite quickly followed by a shock teenage pregnancy, a 21 hour labour and the birth of my beautiful son... then 24 hours later followed with the news of his Down Syndrome... All by the age of 16...
Let's just say the years following the birth then had a very different feel to them than the previous madness.

Stories from the first few years of Kyd's life will no doubt be quite a big part of my blog so read on and Follow me if you want to find out more about our lovely little lives...

Kyd's down syndrome was a massive shock to me, my family and friends but we just got on with it and took life as it came. It was a struggle I won't lie, the diagnosis brought with it Post Natal Depression and many other problems and it took years to get my head around it, not that Kyd would have noticed, he was more than happy. Since all that I've been through plenty more but I shan't go in to it here. When Rocky arrived 10 years later I suffered a quite horrific blood clot and again struggled post birth... I know, I just can't get a break when it comes to having babies right?!... Well hopefully that will be it for now, for both having babies and illnesses *she says with her fingers crossed tightly and silently praying for heath and happiness* but this is me we're talking about so you never know... I don't like to do things in the normal way...

...anyway back to the 'About ME' part!!

I love Indie and Rock music, music festivals, all things TV related especially Reality TV shows... sad i know, blogging, reviewing, crafting, holidays, Ohhhh and Football... yes football... girls can like it too you know! I have a season ticket for Reading FC and love nothing more than watching a nice win at home with my boys at Madejski Stadium... when we actually win that is! I've even been a judge at the Football League Awards in the Best Family Club section, now THAT was epic!

Oooooh Wait...
In 2013 I was on Deal or No Deal... no really I was.
I was in the Summer Special week called DealFest and I won some money and a holiday... whilst dressed as Lady GaGa... like you do. Best few weeks ever though, I met some amazing people and had the best time.

Well that is me, if you need to ask me anything just throw me an email, my contact details are on my 'Reviews and PR' page.
